The sequel to Double Fine’s charming RPG landed, once again, during Fall’s spookiest month so we just had to cover it in some way. Don’t miss out on a cool costume that’s actually pretty tough to get on your own. See what to do below.

Secret Solar System Unlockable Costume Guide
Unlocking the final outfit in Costume Quest 2 is pretty tough. Needless to say, it can’t be earned until late in the story so prepare for some spoilers if you haven’t beaten the game yet.
- 1. Later in the game, after travelling back in time, you’ll enter the sewers with one of the purple glowing time symbols on the floor. There’s a kid to the right with a piece of candy. Speak to him with Thomas Jefferson’s special ability.
- 2. The kid gives away the piece of candy corn. Right above the kid there’s a mound of dirt sticking out of the sewer floor. Plant the new piece of candy and a green sprout will appear.
- 3. Return to the present / future and go to the right side of the neighborhood where there’s a Grubbin watering plants near the dead end street corner.
- 4. This Grubbin needs some help to remember something. Use Thomas Jefferson’s special ability, then equip your party with the upgraded Hot Dog costume, the upgraded Super Hero costume and finally the Teenage Wolf costume. Talk to him while wearing all three and he’ll provide your team with some Fertilizer.
- 5. Go back in time and return to the sewer sprout. Use the Fertilizer on it, and then return to the present.
- 6. In the present, go through the shutter door and enter the Research Lab. Go upstairs to the roof of the Dental Compound, then down to find a huge tree. Use the branch to reach the center and smash the side to get inside the grown trunk.
- 7. The trip up to the top of the tree is insane. Follow the path up, and up, and up. Eventually you’ll reach the top — all the way up in space.
- 8. There’s a chest up above. Open it to gain the Solar System costume. Not easy, but give it a try for yourself. It’s an awesome last reward.
