Fatal Labyrinth is an early Sega Genesis game. The plot is simple: you must venture into Castle Dragonia, proceed through 30 floors of treasures and enemies, slay the dragon, and retrieve the Holy Goblet.

The gameplay is that of a typical Roguelike: all floors and items are randomised, and you attack enemies by bumping into them. Your food supply constantly decreases (like Gauntlet). When you run out, you die of starvation, but if you eat too much you will die of gluttony.

Unusually for an RPG, while there is gold to collect the game has no shops; the gold you pick up only serves to buy yourself a better tombstone when you die, upgrading it from a simple rock to an engraved tombstone and increasing the number of mourners.

On March 18, 1994 the game was re-released on the Japan-only Sega CD compilation Sega Games Can Vol. 2. It also features on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection for the PlayStation 3. Sega released a Windows version on September 14, 2010 as a digital download.
